Specialist Nurse Tissue Viability

Salary: £48,899 – £52,077 per year

Jersey’s southerly location and sheltered position in the Bay of St Malo mean that we have a generally temperate climate that is often warmer, with more sunshine hours, than you might experience in the other British Isles. Jersey is only 5 miles (8 km) long and 9 miles (14.5 km) wide and is made up of 12 parishes.

We are looking for enthusiasm, knowledge and excellent communications skills. If you are keen to join this specialist area of patient care then we are able to support you in this role. The post will involve all aspects of tissue viability and wound care for patients, including prevention, recognition, assessment and treatment. This will include teaching and training both in the classroom and clinically. You will work with the multidisciplinary team throughout the Trust to improve patient care. You will be involved in audit and support ward staff in investigations of pressure ulcers if required.

The post will be supported by an experienced Band 6.

Clinical Coordinator - General Hospital

Salary: £55,891  – £59,398 per year

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Nurse/Operating Department Practitioner to join our newly formed team of Clinical Coordinators. applicants must have at least 5 years post registration experience, with a Degree in a health related subject. Excellent clinical skills are required in order to assess patients within all medical and surgical specialities. the successful applicant will have the competence and confidence in their own ability to manage those patients directly or support nursing colleagues to do so, and recognise when care requires escalation. Entral and Parental Nutritional Specialist Nurse

We are looking for a well-motivated driven specialist nurse who want to embrace and develop a brand new role here at jersey general hospital. The role will involve full Assessment of patients referred for new feeding tubes: PEG, Jejunostomy and Parenteral Nutrition, Monitor In-patients receiving Parenteral Nutrition, Gastrostomy, Jejunostomy and naso-enteric feeding. Train patients, families and carers in caring for feeding tubes and tube sites Assess and troubleshoot in tubes and tube sites problems Telephone reviews of patients. Advice regarding Medicines via enteral feeding tubes and Work closely with Dietitians, Speech and Language Therapist, Learning Disabilities Nurse Specialist and the hospital medical and nursing staff.

Lead Nurse Infection Prevention and Control

Salary: £65,128  – £69,309 per year

We are seeking an experienced senior infection prevention and control nurse to lead our dynamic island wide IPAC Team. As a senior nurse reporting directly to Jersey’s Chief Nurse you will be responsible for the co-ordination and development of an island wide infection prevention and control strategy and service. Working closely with the Consultant in Communicable Disease and Director of Infection Prevention and Control you will be responsible for a team of 6 clinical staff to provide a comprehensive infection prevention and control service which also covers occupational screening of clinical staff, the flu vaccination programme, staff immunisation and MRSA clinics. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to work at a strategic level and make a difference across an entire health economy. As the role spans the island would need to have a driving license and access to a car.
