Staff Nurse - ICU/HDU

We are looking for a registered nurse with 2 years post registration experience in the acute hospital setting who has the drive and passion to undertake a role within our department. We can offer a supportive induction period, regular training and the opportunity to undertake additional courses such as flight transfers, ALS and APLS. As an island hospital we also take paediatric patients and train staff to a standard expected to care for these patients with support from other departments. Affiliation with Chester University enables us to be able to support staff for both BSc and MSc courses on island.

Staff Nurse – Day Services

Salary: £42,045 – £44,593 per year

Day Services work over a variety of social care settings, offering a range of leisure and social opportunities to a variety of client groups; this includes learning disabilities, autism, dementia care and older adults. The core role and function of Day Services is to provide appropriate support that enables people to access meaningful opportunities within their own communities, such as, leisure, social, sports and volunteering activities. The service also provides outreach support to people living in their own homes, or with families, to promote and enable independent living. Service delivery is based upon the principles of person centred care.
We are currently seeking to recruit a RNLD/RGN to our team, to support a group of clients who require nursing care when attending Day Services. The post holder will be responsible for meeting the health care needs of complex clients, through effective, planning, delivery and evaluation of care. The role will also require active participation in the training and development of staff to meet appropriate standards in relation to clinical tasks. The hours of work will predominantly be Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4pm, with some occasional weekend work. Job share or part time hours will also be considered.

Neuroscience Nurse Specialist

Salary: £55,891 – £59,398 per year

We are recruiting a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our busy Neuroscience department as a Nurse Specialist. The post holder will have a wide range of skills and knowledge in caring for patients with Neuroscience conditions. The department reviews patients with the following Neuroscience conditions:

  • Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
  • Movement disorders including Parkinson’s disease
  • Epilepsy, including complex epilepsy
  • Cognition and memory including dementia and Alzheimer’s disease
  • Acquired brain injury
  • Headache/migraine
  • Neuromuscular disease
  • Peripheral nerve disease

The post holder will be expected to develop and maintain good department management and organisational skills act as a positive role model and provide an environment conducive to the support of qualified and unqualified staff whilst enhancing the patient’s journey & experience. The successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse with 5 years post qualifying experience including 3 years recent experience within the speciality. A 1st degree or equivalent credits at level 6 in health related field, relevant post qualifying speciality award. The ideal candidate will be working towards Masters at Level 7 studies and hold a nurse prescribing qualification (this is not essential).
